In the bible, Elijah and Elisha had the gift of working miracles (1Cor. 12:10). The reason why there is an “s” on the word miracle is because there is more than one type of miracle within this gift. One of those ways is in the area of weather. Elijah spoke to Ahab concerning a drought (1Kings 17:1) and the heavens held back the rain for three and a half years. Elisha spoke to the Shunamite woman concerning a famine for seven years (2Kings 8:1). I also have the gift of working of miracles and one of the areas that God speaks to me is weather. From 1995 until 2009 I drove a truck in mountainous areas and was never hindered by snow in any way because of God’s gift. As a matter of fact for several years there was no snow in our city at all.
At the beginning of 2009 God gave me a specific word concerning weather. He said for the body of Christ to pray for thunderstorms because they will not be normal anymore. A thunderstorm could have hail, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes or unexpected flooding inside of them.
Then about 6 to 8 months later God refilled the lakes and made our farm lands fertile again. I received another warning. He said, “And when it STOPS RAINING, make sure my people don’t complain about the heat!”
Remember that there are some natural disasters that even Christians can’t stop with prayer.
